Barely Regal (2007)

Near-ta Theatre turned topical in their Summer 2007 production at Falmouth Arts Centre, telling the true events behind 2006’s right Royal scandal in their production, Barely Regal.

It seems no-one could remember the financial ruin that the monarchy faced in late 2006, so Near-ta were keen to refresh your memories. ‘Barely Regal’ reminded us all of the devastating monetary situation that faced the Windsors, the solution to their problems and “that TV show what the Queen did”.

Mixing TV footage with accurate theatrical representation, starring a host of familiar faces, and with some fantastic songs, Barely Regal was another successful show.
